James Larkin is a distinguished actor and director with over three decades of experience in theatre, film, and television. A Royal Academy of Dramatic Art alumnus, he has collaborated with industry heavyweights, such as Kenneth Branagh and Dame Judi Dench.
As a director, James has helmed numerous dramas, including BBC’s “Call the Midwife” and ABC’s “Private Practice.” His feature film “City Slacker,” received nominations for Best Film at both the Raindance Film Festival and the British Independent Film Awards.
His notable acting roles include ITV’s “Maigret,” and playing Tony Blair in the BAFTA-winning “The Government Inspector,” and recent roles in “Wolf Hall” and “Black Mirror.”

This course is designed for those wishing to grow their confidence in working with actors. This is also useful for actors, who seek to understand how Directors work with their cast.
Attendees should demonstrate a willingness to follow guidance and ability to work as a team. Filmmaking is a collaborative process and Crew Studio champions teamwork, whilst letting each member learn at their own pace.
This course is taught in English, so a strong level of written and spoken English is desirable to ensure you can benefit from our training.
