This weekend, Crew Studio was proud to be part of the Pinewood Studios Futures Festival, the UK’s largest careers fair for the Film and TV industry.
Celebrating International Women’s Day in the film industry, Sony’s Opportunities Afternoon—held at Sony’s Digital Media Production Centre at Pinewood Studios—proved to be an inspiring event supported by Crew Studio. The afternoon was dedicated to showcasing and empowering underrepresented voices in film, delivering a powerful blend of inspiration, innovation, and hands-on experiences.
The event featured engaging talks from trailblazing women, including Mae Yip, Co-Founder of the ERIC app—a dynamic careers platform designed to open new doors for talent. Lennina Ofori from The Awareness Tap also shared her insights, highlighting fresh opportunities and creative paths for emerging professionals in film. Their discussions not only celebrated achievements but also illuminated practical ways to break barriers within the industry.
Adding to the experience, visitors were treated to an exclusive look at Sony’s latest cutting-edge equipment and their state-of-the-art virtual production facility using Sony’s VENICE and VENICE 2. There was also an opportunity to use the VENICE Extension System, where operators could see first hand the benefits of this detachable sensor setup and its use cases in Film & TV production. This immersive experience allowed attendees to explore the tools shaping the future of film production.
